Commander's Corner
First
off, let me Congratulate our New Post Officers for this upcoming
year. We are going to have a good productive year, with this core
of Officers. When you see these individuals please acknowledge
their efforts.
Happy Fathers Day to all of the male members of the post. June
as you know is Convention month and by the time of our next general
meeting there should be reports form those who did attend their
respective Committees
We should be starting off this year with new and fresh ideas to
bring in younger members. We are still on the breaking ground
of doing this with a quarterly event featuring the Attack Band.
One of the key elements is that the music students who do practice
and work hard are given the chance to perform at the end of the
first set. For those of you have been here at the post when we
did do this can tell you that the hall was pretty well filled
up with people. Of course a few of the patrons are younger children,
but then that is where the drive should start. As soon as the
word gets around of what is going on more people will be attending.
Times have changed so we need to stay in step and continue to
grow with events that will keep bringing patrons in.
Fly your Flags Proudly and Remember if it wasn't for a Veteran
We wouldn't have what we have today

Summer is upon us, hope you are all able to do things with the

a good time last year, baby back ribs, all you can eat, should
be a good time this year as well! Many post delegates going to
the State convention at the end of June. Try to make it to the
next monthly post meeting to see what they have to say about it.
Notifications for post membership going out again soon. Sign up
early, it helps the post!

2nd Vice Commander
As we
begin this new Legion year I want to thank those who encouraged
and supported my new venture. My goal is to see increased membership
involvement. Sure would like to hear from and meet other women who
served in the military. We need volunteers to help shape up our
post. KP duty, Bartenders, Plumbers, you name it. I want to hear
from YOU!!! Got an idea on how to improve and increase member participation???
TELL ME. Come to the next membership meeting and let your voice
be heard. We Need You. Thanks to those of you who supported and
attended the post 419 installation, an increase in attendance and
volunteers is much needed, my comrades. If you know how to tend
bar, you're needed. Handy man skills? you're needed. KP and social
skills in general are so desired here. Roll up those sleeves and
come on down! We have picnics, barbecues, dinner dances and various
goings on that might tickle your fancy. Got another idea for the
good of the legion?
Let me know. happy trails
Thank you 2nd Vice

Post
Adjutant
Javier
Sanchez, Army, Iraq, and Mike Torrente, Army, Korea were new members
and Philip Schumaker and Charlie Wilson transferred into the post
last month. At our last membership meeting, Ray Hunt, Bob Lewis's
son-in-law, lost $90, because he was not present, He lives in
Texas so has an excuse. The July drawing will be for $95. The
50/50 attendance drawing was won by John Boyles. Elections 2nd
Vice commander and Service officer, found Megann Marten and Ken
Lowe elected. We still have openings on the Executive and Trustees
boards. Matt Belong accepted nomination for Sgt at Arms and his
election is at the July meeting.
With
the ever increasing cost of membership in many organizations here
is a deal for you. If you buy a PUFL before Nov 11 2006, you will
be allowed to buy it for a $25 per year rate. The younger you
are the more this will save you. A PUFL, allows you to pay your
dues for life with several payment plans. You will never have
to pay again and you will have your card early. Call Craig McGuire,
Ralph Jacob or Jim Smith for a form and your costs. Regular dues
are $30 and due starting 1 July.
Thank You.
