Commander's Corner
I
wish to thank all of the Post and Auxiliary members who showed
up for the Veterans Day Parade. We did luck out>> No Rain<<.
I would also like to thank both Linh and Emma from Santa Clara
University, These Girls, as well as 2 others have been focused
on Veteran Awareness at the University.. They have been asking
about doing fundraisers for the American Legion, and they have
some of our articles to sell. They also came down to help out
at the Parade, and they jumped right in with our group as we marched
down the Parade Route.
The Santa Clara Veterans Memorial Program
went well also, and I would like to thank John Boyles for stepping
in and covering part of my tasks of the Memorial Service. I know
that the weather was slightly on the cold side but we got through
it.
As you know we had monthly 1st Sunday of the month breakfast,
and we had new volunteers come down and help. I won't mention
their names and will just let you guess on who they might be.
As usual with the attrition of our Veterans as well as our older
members I have been to a few services. I know that the families
are very appreciative of our Ritual Services for their loved ones,
it is very rewarding.
With Dec here the Early Bird Breakfast is
scheduled for Dec 3rd, so all of you who do have your newest membership
cards, you know how the game is played. The Adult Christmas Party
is set for Dec 9th, followed on Sunday by the Kid's Christmas
Party. As I have stated before we are also supporting the 129
Air Rescue Wing out of Moffett Field.
This will be bringing us to the end of the Year, the New Years
Eve Party which you can read about the prices in the Howdy. Tickets
are available at the Back Bar (Clubroom). This year has been a
very busy year as we continue to keep things going on and we have
had quite a few rentals here and hopefully we shall be having
more in the future. So at this point I can say that my term of
office is almost half way done, so it is time for another team
to come into place. There will most likely be a few of the present
officers in place and one sitting across taking it easy for a
while or even longer. We shall see and that is about all I have
to say at this time Remember your Fellow Veteran's and their families,
we were there once. Fly your Flags Proudly
Happy Holidays to All

Thank you for all who have paid their dues. The post is now at 85
and moving up. Renewal Second Notices have been sent by National.
If you had paid and have your 07 card please ignore. If you paid
and do not have to your card contact Ralph Jacob. Remember we still
have a reduced price on the Paid Up For Life rates so check them
out. If you have already paid your dues this year you can still
pay for a PUFL and the rate will be reduced by this years dues.
If you pay your dues, by 11 NOV, see you at the "Early Bird"
breakfast 3 DEC, this is free to those who have paid their dues
by Veterans Day.
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones
with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They
are the ones that care . Charles Schultz

My dear comrades, thanking those who attended parade as well as
the Santa Clara memorial service at central park. Our new volunteers
are so appreciated.
Children's Christmas party coming up. Commander Steve has more information
on this event than I so feel free to contact him for more information
if needed. Remember to mail or bring in your little ones name, gender
and age so we can have an appropriate gift on the ready.
Christmas (can I still say that
word?) party for adults should be a hit as well. Gosh...so much
going on and we don't want to miss the ALL YOU CAN EAT crab feed.
Crab now in season. Would be ever so excellent to have a huge attendance
at our new years celebration.
May this holiday season be the best
ever for you and yours.
Thank you 2nd Vice

Gamma was elected to the Trustees board; there is still an opening
on the Trustees and one on the Executive board.
This bulletin is
for 2 months due to the holidays. Let me wish all of you a Merry
and Healthy Christmas and Holiday season from all the post officers.
We look forward to your support as we do the work required to keep
the post and building working. Make a New Years resolution to become
more active next year. Make a meeting, dinner, lunch, or just have
a coke at the bar.
Thank You.
